I believe in your healing.

I am a clinical trained social worker and have over 18 years’ experience working with children, adolescents and adults. I have primarily worked in the field of trauma focusing on sexual assault and domestic violence. I am an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with AASW and an approved counsellor with NSW Victims Services and EAP providers.

I am passionate about providing trauma-informed clinical intervention to promote recovery and healing from trauma impacts and other challenges and stress. I believe in providing a compassionate space to empower people to feel better again.

I integrate a neurobiologically-informed understanding of trauma and attachment with a practical approach to therapeutic work. I recognise that trauma can cause deep shame, blame and a fractured sense of self. I believe that when we work to re-establish safety and connection within the fragmented parts, healing is possible.

I enjoy working in partnership with people and operate from a strengths based perspective to promote recovery and integration of the self.

Over the years, I have worked in child protection settings where I developed a solid understanding of the legacies of childhood attachment and relationships, mental health and drug use. I have also worked in specialist legal settings where I developed an understanding of court and matters involving murder, homicide, violence and abuse. I have also held specialist sexual assault counselling roles at the Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sexual Assault and a NSW Health Sexual Assault Service where I learnt invaluable knowledge of the individual and systemic responses to trauma and abuse.

I also provide individual and group supervision to practitioners and work with social workers wanting to establish their own private practice.

I hold a bachelor of behavioural health science, a masters in social work, and hold specialist certificates in adult sexual assault, child sexual assault, problematic sexualised behaviours, group work, domestic violence and trauma informed practice. I also hold certificates in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociative disorders. I am clinically trained in EMDR and Brainspotting, two effective trauma treatment modalities. I am also a VITA certified Love, Sex and Relationship Coach and a Surf Therapist for Trauma Recovery.
