A Workshop for Practitioners

"Cherie is clearly very experienced and knowledgeable".

Tim, Social Worker.

Let's empower healing together.

In today's world, the heartbreaking reality of child sexual assault persists, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of survivors. As practitioners dedicated to support, you understand the urgent need for specialised knowledge and compassionate guidance in responding to such traumatic experiences.

The "Responding to Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Assault - A Workshop for Practitioners" is designed to equip you with the essential tools and insights to effectively support and empower healing.

Child sexual assault remains a pervasive and deeply troubling issue, often shrouded in silence and stigma. Practitioners face the challenge of navigating the complexities of trauma, recognising signs of abuse, and responding with specialised care and intervention. The lack of comprehensive resources and training in this critical area can hinder practitioners' ability to respond sensitively and effectively to the needs of survivors - leading to re-traumatisation and slowing down healing.

"Trauma is personal. It does not disappear if it is not validated. When it is ignored or invalidated the silent screams continue internally heard only by the one held captive."

- Danielle Bernock.

HOW WE CAN HELP TOGETHER:

This workshop provides a comprehensive and empowering resource tailored specifically for practitioners like you who are dedicated to supporting child survivors of sexual assault and promoting healing in the aftermath of such trauma. By exploring key topics such as the tactics and dynamics of perpetrators, recognising indicators, understanding the prevalence and types of sexual abuse, understanding the impacts,  trauma-informed practice, vicarious trauma, post traumatic growth, resourcing ourselves in the work, and making resources and referral pathways accessible this workshop equips you with the knowledge and skills necessary to create a positive impact in the lives of child survivors.

Through practical guidance, the latest research, and a compassionate approach, you will be empowered to advocate for and support survivors of sexual abuse with resilience, confidence and expertise.

TOGETHER LET'S CHANGE THE TRAJECTORY OF HEALING.

The victim, on the contrary, asks the bystander to share the burden of pain. The victim demands action, engagement, and remembering.” ― Judith Lewis Herman, Trauma and Recovery.
