The Jacaranda Group

The Jacaranda Group is a group for women survivors of childhood sexual assault to have a safe, therapeutic environment to meet with other survivors and explore together the impact of abuse on their lives and to assist each other in their journey of recovery.

Topics include:

  • learning to trust and feel safe again
  • challenging self-blame, guilt and shame
  • challenging secrecy and speaking about abuse
  • understanding sexual assault dynamics
  • exploring difficult emotions and understanding trauma impacts, how to heal improve relationships, and have safety in intimacy, self worth and body image.

The group is facilitated by two counsellors specialising in sexual assault and trauma.

10 weekly sessions of 2 hours.
Cost: Mental Health Care Plan + $10 each week.
